As every year goes by, it becomes more and more prevalent that change is always happening. As a child, you see things very permanently therefore unable to understand or comprehend that things are the way they are for the moment. But, in an instant, can change everything.
The first type of experience that I think someone goes through to make this a thing, is most likely a death in the family or pet. I lost my grandfather on my mothers side while I was in middle school then my grandmother during my freshman year in college. Just last year I lost my other grandfather and then recently one of my two dogs that my friend and I have had and raised for 15 years. Nothing brings you back down to reality and humbles you like death.
I start to realize, I’m my parents age when I first had a grasp on things like age and life. My best friends have gotten married and have children of their own and their parents are now grandparents. And we all know how fragile grandparents can be, and you’re only one generation removed from that now.
I don’t know how to end this on a positive not but that life. Life goes on regardless if you, or anyone you know, is around to live it.
