One thing that has stuck with me when I get any type of feedback on my career is when I get told how consistent I am. Although I know pride is one of the seven deadly sins, I find that if used properly, being proud of who you are, what you did or created and how far you’ve come can motivate you do keep going. Keep pushing. There are countless memes and saying that express that if you can preserver and get over that hump, success can be right around the corner. A lot of people in this creative industry haven’t necessarily failed as an artist, but they haven’t had the will, determination or drive to accomplish what they set out to do. I have found myself in this position numerous times. I allow myself to dwell on things that have already happened or found it hard to accept things that were out of my control. I say this a lot when telling my story, but when I hit the ripe ol’ age of 30, my mentality and mindset changed. I stopped caring about things that wouldn’t have a long term bearing on my life. Sure, I allow myself time to process and move on from things, but I know that a busy body keeps the mind preoccupied too. All the way to the point of realizing how much time has passed with a lot of achievements accomplished.

Life is hard, I get it. We all have our own situations, our own story and our own future. We can’t change the past, and honestly, even with all the things that I’ve gone through, I am proud of who I’ve become and am confident that who I am now can continue to be better than who I was yesterday. That should be an everyday goal; be better than who you were yesterday. We can all strive to be better. Not only for ourselves, but out loved ones around us and overall, society and the world.
